Rationale
The growing emphasis on sustainability and responsible finance has elevated the role of Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) in advancing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards. As DFIs pursue their mandates to promote inclusive economic growth and social progress, integrating ESG principles into strategic, operational, and human resource dimensions has become essential.
This course aims to deepen the understanding and capacity of DFI leaders and officers in embedding ESG practices within their institutions—enhancing their strategic planning, governance frameworks, credit and lending policies, risk management systems, and people engagement programs. Through a mix of expert lectures, case discussions, and practical exercises, participants will acquire tools to champion ESG-driven transformation across organizational levels.
