Unlocking ESG Values: Strategies for Human Resources

COURSE DESCRIPTION
HR has a strategic role in preparing institutions to comply with climate change requirements and integrating sustainability across the institution’s processes. As most development financing institutions transition to a sustainable model that aligns with global expectations on sustainability and addressing the impact of climate change, attracting and retaining talents would be driven by competencies supporting climate change requirements, including building a green project pipeline, ESG disclosures, reporting, monitoring and evaluation.

The course will explore how HR contributes to ESG and how ESG can be integrated into the HR strategy. Among the topics to be discussed are the following:

● Understanding ESG
● The benefits of ESG
● The reporting requirements of ESG
● The role of HR in ESG.
● How to integrate ESG in HR strategy
● How to drive ESG in your organization

OBJECTIVE
To make ESG ingrained across units in the financial institution as a way of managing risks and making conscious decision on how the organization engages with the world, act responsibly as part of the community, and upholds excellent ethical practices.
